Fragile Fantasies
Navigating Expectations in Human Bonds

Silly me, in naivety's embrace, Expecting hearts to match my pace, Assuming depths where none reside, Hoping for bonds to never slide.
I built castles on clouds of trust, Believing souls would never rust, But people wander their own lane, Leaving my hopes to wane.
I dreamed of symphonies in harmony, Yet found discord in this reality, For expectations often play a game, Leaving my heart with lingering shame.
Silly me, learning this refrain, To temper hopes, not seek in vain, Accepting each soul's unique terrain, With understanding that can sustain.
So here I stand, a wiser soul, Learning to mend, to fill the hole, For silly me, though bruised, still sees, The beauty in humanity's mysteries.
