Breathe, blissful tulip,

Speak with soft, light-colored tongues,

Whispered breeze: a song.

*

Blaze, bright sunflower,

Stalk the sun, mirror its flame,

At dusk, westward strain.

*

From jacarandas,

Plummet purple, jocund blooms,

Withered underfoot.

*

Melting, Lenten rose,

Ice diamonds glint on dark leaf,

Wet kiss on blush lips.

Stunning! I'll think of your line, "Stalk the sun, mirror its eye" next summer when I look at the sunflowers that grow in our yard.
