**Fortress of Solitude**

When Hope Meets Insecurity

You build your fortress, stone by stone,

a towering shield against the world unknown.

I step inside when silence fills the air,

when hope ignites and you shed your despair.

Yet, just as swiftly, the walls draw tight,

you push me out into the shadowed night.

Insecurity’s whispers creep back in,

the weight of absence presses down like sin.

Suddenly, the echoes of your doubt

scale the heights, and I’m cast out.

Alone I stand, beneath a heavy sky,

with nothing left but the remnants of goodbye.

Where will I wander, now that I’m set free?

Did you ever wonder where you’d be without me?
