Forgotten

A life long gone

By Tamsin smithPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The world is new, as am I

The smells and sights

I am loved and love

I cry and can bleed

My mind is full of optimism

My heart it knows no bounds

To breath is an honour

To be human is limitless

So many dreams to be fulfilled

So much time on my hands

This is not how it should be

This can’t be the end

You all morn your loss

You bring flowers

How time eases the tears

How life moves on

No longer am I remembered

No caring for my resting place

A bird may perch

A dog cocks his leg

Where family once stood weeds now grow

Where the sun once shone trees now stand

Sometimes the wind gently speaks

Sometimes a passer-by will stop and gaze

When the years have passed

When my grave crumbles away

This will be my no more

This life long forgotten
