Forgive and Forget

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

[Verse]

Pay attention

Eyes wide open

Hearts ain't made for heavy hopin'

If your brother stumbles

Let him know

Truth ain't cruel

It helps us grow

[Prechorus]

If he turns and says he's sorry

Don't hold grudges

Don't you worry

[Chorus]

Forgive and forget

Let it go

Let it go

Love's the seed

Let it grow

Let it grow

When the heart bends

It's stronger yet

Forgive and forget

Forgive and forget

[Verse 2]

Words like arrows

They can sting

But grace is such a healing thing

If they falter

If they stray

Bring them back the loving way

[Bridge]

It's not easy

I know it's true

But mercy makes us brand-new

Chains of anger

Let them fall

Love is bigger than them all

[Chorus]

Forgive and forget

Let it go

Let it go

Love's the seed

Let it grow

Let it grow

When the heart bends

It's stronger yet

Forgive and forget

Forgive and forget

Another excellent lyric. This one is especially meaningful to me as I struggle to forgive a clique of people that I do not want to forgive. But ultimately I know for my own heart and soul it is imperative that I move forward.
