Once upon a time, in a land far away,
Lived a plant that was known to grant immortality each day,
To those who dared to take a bite,
Of its fruit, which glimmered in the light.
Its leaves were green and its stem was tall,
It stood amidst the flowers, towering over them all.
Its petals were red and its nectar was sweet,
A fragrance so divine, it could not be beat.
But little did the people know,
The true power that this plant did own,
For whoever ate its fruit with glee,
Would never age, as old as could be.
The news spread fast and far and wide,
As people flocked from afar, they cried,
"We must try this fruit, we must see,
If it truly grants immortality!"
And so they did, they took a bite,
And to their surprise, they saw the light,
They felt the power, they felt so free,
As the plant granted them immortality.
But as with all good things, there came a catch,
For the plant's gift came with a hefty latch,
You could never leave, you could never roam,
For you were bound to the plant's kingdom.
So now they live in this magical land,
With the plant as their ruler, they take a stand,
Against time and age, they'll never fall,
For they've eaten the fruit, and have it all.
And though they may never leave this place,
They've got a smile on their face,
For they've got all the time in the world,
To laugh and dance and sing and twirl.
So if you ever come across this plant,
And you're feeling bold, take a second to grant,
Yourself immortality, take a bite,
And enjoy the rest of your eternal life.
