Forest Song

All my troubles were manmade

By Laura ToddPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

The sun comes into being

in my perception

The birds sing along

Today, I am not alone

The ground softly embraces

Cool green and Earth brown

Holding my song

Finally, I'm home

This world is mine

and there's space for everything

Come everyone

Come everyone, and si-i-i-ing

This world is ours

and there's space for everything

Come everyone

Come everyone, and sing

The sun warms me like coffee

Flowing, and stirred up

I rise up like steam

On new light memory

The muse grazes beside me

Hungry as I've been

Making a breakfast of

a nearby melody

Sunrise rainbows light my body

No more hiding in the shade

There is joy in simply being

All my troubles were just manmade

There's a movement through the bushes

I am thrilled and unafraid

There is life outside the rat race

Just past dawn, my day is made

This world is mine

and there's space for everything

Come everyone

Come everyone, and si-i-i-ing

This world is ours

and there's space for everything

Come everyone

Come everyone, and sing

The sun comes into being

in my perception
