Forecast

is calling for rain

I checked the forecast

it’s calling for rain

thats why I’m out here waiting

because I took our memories

and all of the pain

our pictures together

our texts

our fights

our resolutions

our late nights

every call

I took it all

the holidays we spent

our vows

our plans

our past

everything I can’t get back

but also the things I still have

including socks your mom bought

featuring cute little bookworms

and all the lessons I learned

after that, I managed to grab and hold

every truth that you said

and every lie that you told

every single moment

whether silver or gold

moments I found exceptional

and ones rotten to the core

and when I thought I took enough

I took more

I mapped them all out

drew everything perfectly

using every color I could find

the good

the bad

the black

the white

every single word

every single talk

I sketched it all

using my preferred medium for this illustration

best representing

my feelings for our relations

all while wearing, my beloved bookworm socks

my masterpiece complete

my Mona Lisa in sidewalk chalk

I checked the forecast

it’s calling for rain

soon the water will come

to wash away
