There’s a colour we can’t see,
Right between red and green.
Existing somewhere in theory,
They say it’s not meant for you and me.
I feel it there thinking back,
The colour I shouldn’t know.
Written in naïve memories,
A proud and innocent glow.
Time trudges on and dips us,
Khaki brown and concrete grey.
We play a part of mundane fit,
And that colour fades away.
Yet tides of hope swell inside,
When thoughts turn to night skies.
A universe that can’t be seen,
Somewhere between red and green.
Forbidden colour in my gut,
Like a rainbow dancing through the dust.
