To earn the love of a cat is an honor and a privilege
Their purrs of content and satisfaction are priceless
The rare moment they cuddle is eternal bliss
Eyes that look in your soul and a button nose
I can't help but stare and want to go boop
You beg for their love, though they don't want you to
The only time they beg is for food or to be left alone
Occasionally, they seek attention with a sweet meow
Their playfulness is childlike
Fascinated by random items like cotton swabs and toilet paper
Cats are stand-offish, perhaps even snobbish
All the more reason to seek their affection
The darling creatures are finicky snuggle bugs
So fluffy and adorable
They're sassy one second and then tender the next
Give me this precious furball!
If you're not a cat person, that's okay
I wasn't always one
But then I met one fur baby for the first time
And things have never been the same.
If you made it to the end of this poem, thank you! I don't use the free verse format a lot. Feel free to give me advice on this and whether you want more.

That was so sweet. Yes, I'm a cat person. 😁
Cute poem. I especially love the line about “eternal bliss” when they finally cuddle, so true!
