Toronto
A short poem inspired by the pleasant Canadians
Has anyone pretended to have a boyfriend/girlfriend from Canada? No? That was just a thing on TV? Oh, well. Here's a poem inspired by that concept.
It always kills me when
You look at me that way
It feels like Heaven sent from above
Things will never be the same
I can't be in love with you yet
It's too soon
I can't just make up
My mind about you
Oh, damn I think too much
All I need is your touch
I'll follow where you go
Take me to Toronto
I'm sick of the west coast
Make love in a snowstorm
This is my new home
Babe, don't leave me like a ghost
Kiss me under the moonlight
Make this moment last all night
I'll follow where you go
Take me to Toronto
Lay me down
In the maple autumn leaves
Can't hold back anymore
Take the heart off my sleeves
I'm falling in love it's just
Too good to be true
But I can't stop
Thinking about you
Oh, wouldn't it be nice
To melt my heart like it's ice
I'll follow where you go
Take me to Toronto
I'm sick of the west coast
Make love in a snowstorm
This is my new home
Babe, don't leave me like a ghost
Kiss me under the moonlight
Make this moment last all night
I'll follow where you go
Take me to Toronto

Top form. Wild fires are raging now i think. Metaphorically and otherwise.
It’s great to have you back. You are in top form with this poem and what a way to come back. Excellent work!
As a Canadian, I appreciate you - and your poem!!
As someone in Australia who’s always had the travel bug for Canada, this totally got me.
Great poem and welcome back to the writing game! I think many of us will settle anywhere over the northern border
I think we've all done this at one point in our lives, lol. Loved your poem!
Is Montréal a good alternate for you? 😄
