For you I would leave everything
Family, understanding, home
Running miles in tattered shoes
Straight into the mouth
Of scavenging coyotes
On a stomach filled
With hope and broken promises
Of a dream I’m not allowed to have
All for the love of something
That may never love me back

This piece resonates with me as an immigrant. The fact that I along with so many had to give up a part of themselves to seek acceptance somewhere else. Was it the American dream that I’d hoped for? I appreciate this piece ❤️. Well written.
Wow. That's and excellent and original take on the challenge. Well done.
Deep Shaun. A person can give and be sincere about it but that does not guarantee it will be reciprocated. In this instance I take it that you are speaking about love for a country that is torn apart.
No guaranteed certainty involving another's freewill and this captured the stakes so strikingly!
Oof, that hits hard. Sacrifice, struggle, and unrequited devotion—powerful and painfully real.
Ditto to Andrea’s comment!✅ Well done.
Unique take on the challenge - nice job.
Heroic in a weird sense of the word, yet hopeful with no guarantee of the desired outcome. Sometimes it's worth it to find out. Loved your take on the prompt.
This is powerful, painful to read, and exploits the elasticity of the prompt. Nice work!
