For love is two-sided

Lucky for you

Calm words of encouragement and wisdom,

Touch so much as a petals brushing soft against the breeze,

Moments of just us, slipping through fingers,

Knowing we won’t ever be as young, or fun, or nimble and free,

Yet this part is always the best for me,

Finding your heat under the sheets as the nights get longer and the mist gets heavy,

Toes touching, nose touching, feeling your sleepy breath wash over me,

Just like that the morning pulls through, wakes up the sense to a day anew,

On we go, each day still new, but the feelings of being become done and boredom routine sets in too,

Wake up, get up, kettle switch, stretch, look out for the sunshine as it’s still deep in the horizon line,

Before you know, it’s like times gone slow, then sped up so fast you didn’t have time to try and slow,

A full minute, that turned into years, here we are on bed sheets, yet not our own comforts, instead the hospice of others, of all the elderly who have had to withdraw,

From the new to the old, to the routine set in, to here and now, and then now, here?

How funny it is, the round circle of life, of love, of happiness, of heartbreak and sadness, it all turns round depending on the outlook offered from you
