For Eons

Some searches take a lifetime.

I.

For eons, I walked the earth,

never knowing where I was going,

never knowing what I was all about.

II.

For eons, I walk this proud earth

looking for a cause,

looking for a way.

III.

I chased many rainbows,

believing I’d find the way

to the dreams I live for.

IV.

Every time, I hoped

I’d find the way

in many places,

in many directions.

V.

For eons, I searched

And for eons,

I will search.

And that’s the way it will go.

VI.

Eons will come and go

and still,

I’ll keep searching

And I’ll always keep searching

until I find

What I’ve been searching for.

And then I can stop

And know what life is all about.
