For Eden
In memory of little Eden Williams
Dear Eden,
Staring at an empty room, at empty hopes, at empty dreams,
thinking of the could-have-been's when nothing is at it seems:
The toes we'll never count, the hands we'll never hold,
the adventures never had, and the memories never told,
the eyes we'll never see, the laugh we'll never hear,
the days we'll never spend loving you, holding you close and dear.
. . .
There's something to be said of a smile backed with grief,
of when time became my hope, and my hope became a thief;
of when the light inside me died, but life continued on,
when everyone keeps laughing, loving, living, but the joy in me is gone.
Though I'll never get to hold you, my perfect little Eden,
my love for you will only ever deepen.
. . .
The days will be long, the days will be hard,
and a part of me without you will always be scarred.
Yet even still, there is hope, there is joy, there is peace;
there is a life, a love that will never cease.
When I don't understand, when I can't see why,
when nothing feels right, and all I can do is cry,
God is here and He will stay,
comforting, healing, making a way.
Sincerely,
Your Mom, Dad, and Big Brothers

Dedicated to little Eden who was lost to a miscarriage. You were and always will be loved and cherished, sweet angel! You have amazing, one-of-a-kind parents who cannot wait to meet you when they reach heaven one day!

My mind lives in other worlds that beg to known. And so I write - to share their tales of the long-forgotten and the unknowns, to give life to their words, adventures, joys, and sorrows...to help them exist.
