Footsteps Along A Melancholy Boulevard
a poem inspired by perseverance in a modern world

In the depths of night, where shadows creep,
Along a melancholy boulevard, they weep,
Footsteps echo, a mournful symphony,
Recalling lost dreams and aching misery.
Each weary soul, burdened with despair,
Trudging through life, burdened by the wear,
Their hearts heavy, with loneliness profound,
Searching for solace, yet nowhere to be found.
In the dimly lit streets, where hope is scarce,
They wander aimlessly, lost in a trance,
Their dreams, once vibrant, now faded and worn,
Like forgotten whispers, forever torn.
The boulevard, a journey of broken dreams,
Where laughter fades, and silence redeems,
Faces etched with lines of sorrow and regret,
Yearning for a love they can never forget.
Through misty eyes, they glimpse the past,
A kaleidoscope of memories, fading fast,
The laughter, the joy, now distant and cold,
Like fragments of a story, never fully told.
Loneliness wraps around them like a shroud,
Their hearts, heavy with longing, cry out loud,
But the boulevard remains indifferent and still,
A silent witness to their unending uphill.
Yet amidst the darkness, a flicker of light,
A glimmer of hope, shining ever so bright,
For in the depths of despair, they find a way,
To rise above the sorrow, to seize the day.
They gather their strength, their spirits ignite,
Embracing the darkness, they choose to fight,
With every step forward, they reclaim their dreams,
And mend the broken pieces, by any means.
Footsteps along this melancholy boulevard,
A testament to resilience, though times are hard,
For in the depths of their souls, a fire burns,
A reminder that from ashes, new life returns.
So let us remember, in moments of despair,
That even in darkness, hope is always there,
And as we tread this boulevard, hand in hand,
Together we’ll find solace, in this lonely land.
