Angels In the Devil’s Army

a poem inspired by the uneasy times we are living in

angels and devils by Solomon

In shadows deep and secrets cold,

A cautionary tale unfolds.

Through murky waters of our minds,

The challenges of life unbind.

Intrigue, it whispers in the night,

Temptations dance in dim-lit light.

A desire to be accepted, to belong,

Can steer us down a treacherous wrong.

We yearn for loyalty, for trust,

But know not who we truly must.

For in our quest to prove our worth,

We may betray our inner hearth.

Like good Samaritans we roam,

Unaware we work for the unknown.

The devil’s hand may guide our path,

Leading us away from righteous wrath.

Committing treason ‘gainst our soul,

We lose ourselves in this dark role.

We forsake the light within our core,

For a fleeting moment’s false rapport.

But the truth remains, deep down we know,

That loyalty to self should always glow.

In the pursuit of acceptance sought,

Let not your own essence be naught.

So heed this caution, my dear friend,

Let not your loyalty bend and blend.

Seek authenticity, be true,

To thyself and others too.

For in the web of shadows cast,

Lie choices that will forever last.

Choose wisely, for the path you tread,

Can lead to darkness or light instead.
