Footprints in the Snow

Following the Path of Memory and Hope

I walk where the world lies blank and new,

A canvas of white beneath skies of blue.

The snow, untouched, in its perfect grace,

Waits for the mark of a traveler’s pace.

Each step I take leaves a fleeting trace,

A pattern etched, a fleeting embrace.

I pause and turn, the trail in view—

A story written, both old and true.

Here are the moments I’ve left behind,

Some filled with joy, some less kind.

Here are the stumbles, the falls, the fight,

But also the leaps, the turns toward light.

The snow remembers where I have been,

Each footprint laid is a marker within.

The places I’ve wandered, the paths I’ve missed,

Are captured here, in nature’s list.

But not all footprints belong to me,

For others have walked this snow-laden sea.

Their steps have crossed, have run beside,

A silent bond where paths collide.

And when the sun begins to glow,

It softens the edges of tracks in the snow.

The past fades gently, though never erased,

A memory held, yet softly replaced.

The snow keeps falling, the future calls,

A journey unfolds as the white sheet sprawls.

Each step I take writes a part of me,

A story yet told on this vast, white sea.

So as I walk through the winter’s white,

I carry my shadows, I seek the light.

And though the snow will one day go,

The footprints remain in the heart’s soft glow.
