Floundering Here and There, with No Conscious Intention

Physically idle, but inside, mentally chaotic!

To the outside, quiet and aloof,

Floundering here and there.

Sometimes, dragging oneself, around and around,

From place to place with no conscious intention -

Yet, the fish analogy is apt!

Do you ever feel that there is a place just outside

One you cannot reach, but feel, and feel it very deeply?

It’s as if there is another world just beyond the ‘looking glass’,

Or above the water’s surface,

But you can’t quite tap into! -

You’ve forgotten how, or maybe you never even really knew..

A reality in which you are happy and productive, liked and admired.

But face it, it’s just out of reach - surely always will be,

Accustomed to continue looking at yourself from two sides -

Unable to penetrate the superior reality.

You have an old soul, one of those reincarnated ones who was here before and on the second or third go at living this life. You are experiencing the life before, Hey, write some new ones if you don;t want the old ones read, They are good though. This poem reminded me of me and my ever reaching and ever searching other me. Wonderfilled.
