Floating
This poem is about my ex passing away, letting go of that love and meeting new eyes with curiosity
A feather floats down the stream
From where you used to sit
Your beating heart is all I heard
For days and years on end
I tested waters
And broke ice
But the whisper of your name
Always kept me on edge
My heart beat
For you there
Until the day
You flew away
You dropped my heart
Right back
Into my hollow chest
My eyes were opened
My vision cleared
I saw the ocean
It brought me tears
A spark ignited
Into the shadows
And with a glance
The sun gazed into my eyes
A soft kiss
Fell upon my lips
A flower blossomed
Between my hips
My soul lifted
And I felt
Light as a feather
Floating down a stream

Oh, hugs. So heartbreaking
I am so sorry Tanya. This is so sad. Every line but especially this one, 'you drop my heart right back into my hollow chest'. Gosh. If he's the one described as a feather. Then the life has gone from him. That's painful to translate like that. Tested water and broke ice. Your metaphors are so strong in this one. This was smooth as heck. Rhymes running like the stream. Beautiful, humbling and deeply deeply painful to read. 🤗🖤❤️🖤
