Flight 666

God rest our souls

Flight 666

The engines roared and shook the cabin,

everyone held their seats in tense, silent fear.

Outside, the night stretched endless and black,

and I felt a weight in the air I could not explain.

Shadows moved over us all as the lights flickered,

and every face knew something was wrong.

No one spoke, but we all felt it,

a pull that was not natural,

a fear that none of us could escape.

The plane climbed higher and faster,

the horizon bending into shapes that should not exist.

Some journeys never return,

some moments are not meant to be survived,

and I gripped my seat

as the flight carried me into what could not be seen.

Now I sit in heaven with everyone from that night,

and we still speak of the silence that took us,

how the sky swallowed us without a sound.

There was no fire, no final scream,

only a sudden stillness

and a light that opened like morning.

We remember the fear, though we do not feel it now,

we remember the darkness, though we live beyond its reach.

There are no questions here, no missing answers,

only calm, only peace,

and faces free from the weight of goodbye.

Sometimes we look back at the world below,

wondering who still waits, who still cries,

and we wish we could whisper to them,

that we did not fall into nothing,

that we are safe, and we are held,

in a place where pain cannot follow.
