Flicker In The Abyss

A Race Against The Shadows

By Kenneth cruzPublished about a year ago 1 min read

The shadows close in,

Darkness looms.

A light flickers at the end of the tunnel—

Will I reach it in time?

The clock ticks, a relentless metronome.

Slow, methodical beats,

Yet every moment feels slower, closer,

Louder—ringing in my ears.

Energy falters, fading fast.

Not like before.

It comes, then vanishes.

Every second, every inch it draws nearer,

And I am becoming these very shadows.

They press closer now,

Encapsulating me in their void.

The world blurs as I push toward the light,

But with every moment I waver,

I slip further into something unknown,

Something dark, forgotten—a ghost.
