Five Senses, Five Moments
A Short Poem for the Sensational Challenge
The five senses come into play most often in ordinary experiences, like those in a mall.
We end up taking them for granted, simply because we rely on them so. Hereβs a little ode in return for their service.

Five Moments in a Mall
I saw the brilliant blue sky before the hurricane,
felt the brush of warm fingers in a crowded mall.
The taste of chocolate ice-cream stayed on my lips,
as the voices of children chimed through its corridors,
The scent of doughnuts cajoling as I shiver.

Nicely done.
Beautiful, but the hurricane reference is troubling and suspenseful.
Mmmm, chocolate ice cream and doughnuts! Loved your poem!
Wonderful words and challenge entry and the picture reminds me of the Central Arcade in Newcastle where I may be today
