There are as many paths as there are people to walk them,
But when you walk the walk, that’s beyond equal to talking,
I knew I needed a new flame but I wasn’t eager to spark it,
You were the light that found me at the peak of my darkness,
A chance encounter that took me by surprise,
Even with my guard up, I feel you look through my disguise,
Just by presence alone, you push me into stride,
Just by your frame of mind, this could be by design,
I could see you as the bride in all white at my wedding,
I could see you as my partner under life’s heavy pressure,
I could see you when it’s pitch black, you’re the light that came from heaven,
I could see you…my first sight at forever.

My New Book is Finally Here
My poetry collection Beautiful and Brutal Things is done. It's actually done and finally published over 270 pages. Over a year of my life went into this book. More than a year, really. Long days at my computer, sometimes seven days a week because I couldn't stop even when I probably should have. Then two months of editing that felt harder than the writing itself. But it's finished, and I'm still standing, and the book is real.
