First Frost

Thoughts From This Past Week

By Kaiz Published 2 months ago 1 min read
Frosty leaves on the ground

Breath so cold you can see it

Silence smothering it all

Sun reflecting is so bright

Hope for winter’s soon coming call

Grass reflecting bits of ice

Mornings will now take more care

Cloth layers, car defrosting

Must think about being prepared

Footsteps are easy to track

As outlines show to and fro

False sense of winter’s presence

Making everything seem like snow

Now is the time when day fades

Quickly night is returning

Sun rising as we embark

But swiftly will leave one yearning

But winter is coming soon

With all the holiday cheer

Thus, making time go by faster

Until we greet a brand-new year

I love this , Katz, it's like reading your mind's diary of frost! We had frost here in Florida Tuesday and Wednesday and then the grass turns brown- that's how we know it's winter lolol but I already spread my rye grass so the yards will be green in a few days 💚
