Why the need to call me baby?

All these diminutive names

Seem to me a bit degrading,

We ve barely talked

And you’re already making claims.

Or for you to hold my hand,

Maybe you are not as charming,

As you seemed when we first met.

And say ‘I’m catching feelings’.

I say good night

And tell you to put on your mask.

Perhaps it stops the spread

Childishly hoping that it will do the task.

But think of ways,
