Fine china waiting to serve a green tea
Infused with peppermint not from the gods
Needless pursuit of the best bourgeoisie
Gaining half a foothold against all odds
Each one wants to rule some part of the world
Reading into a future that had been
Year-marked with lesser-tasting oolong curled
Over a slit of lemon/lime too thin
Undressing the leaves from a hidden stash
Remembering how she looked naked there
After coming from a perfect rehash
Necked with the past and every tender pair
Us and them and all the other fingers
Sleeping away the time as love lingers
-----
Dedicated to the middle finger.
