Filter Me Beautiful
A Poetic Critique on Social Media Validation and Self-Worth

In the age of social media, validation often comes filtered and fleeting. This poem explores the disconnect between curated online personas and authentic self-worth, urging us to see beyond the surface and embrace our unfiltered selves.
I smile through screens with filtered light,
A flawless mask to hide the fight.
Pixels paint a perfect skin,
While shadows crawl beneath.
A world that rates, approves, and likes,
Where worth is weighed in filtered spikes.
Each double tap is a fleeting cheer,
But does it reach the heart sincerely?
I chase the glow, the curated hue,
Yet lose the me that’s raw and true.
Behind the lens, the truth blurs thin,
A fading self I tuck within.
So here I stand, no filters worn,
Unmasked, unfiltered, raw, and torn.
Seeking worth beyond the screen,
To find the love unseen, unseen.
