Fighting To Be Human

On Being A Woman In The World

You won’t see my back when

It chances upon me,

Or you. (What’s the difference?)

You’ll see my teeth

Shredding sweetly through

Illusory control.

-

I must remind at times

The world’s woes

Are not mine to own,

Oh, but, the rage I would

Unleash for us… boils…

(I. will. fight.)

-

So if it must harm, then

Let me pay Pain, who

Takes its toll each day

Without remorse, but

Seemingly with a

Smirk; (paroxysm!)

-

I can’t help but rise, and

(AMPLIFY MY VOICE)

When, hunting the prize, I

Find resiliency in a pen,

Then, I’ll scribe: it is

Us who’ll feast!
