Fight Club
I raise up my voice—not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard. … We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back. Malala Yousafzai

Fight Club
Loving you is easy…
You didn’t fight me with your fists you fought me with your heart.
You didn’t fight me with your fists you fought me with your heart.
I wasn’t immune.
The blows started out as ticks upon my skin.
Slowly over time they manifested themselves into triggers.
Triggers that led to bullets.
Bullets that ripped through my soul.
The very essence of my being.
You didn’t fight me with your fists you fought me with your heart.
You left me weak and alone beaten and scared.
I’ll say it again…
You didn’t fight me with your fists love; oh no you fought me with your heart.
And guess what? Now I am going to fight back.
Take what’s mine.
Rebuild
Those memories you burned to the ground.
My bruises and scars were not seen by the human eye, but by the soul.
Internal
Bleeding
Scratching
Like the embers you thought were ashes, watch out!
This Phoenix is about to rise.
And oh what a day it will be, because you may not have fought me with your fists;
But you no longer can fight me with your heart.
The Phoenix has come to reclaim her spot and now it is you who will burn.
