Field Of Sorrow And Pain

Poem of looking back to a painful time

Be mindful, I say,

Walk straight through, be on your way.

Bypassing that field of sorrow and pain today,

Stepping into it will only cause you delay.

Why do you wander back that way?

No answer there on display,

Just sorrow, fear, and pain on that highway,

Is that all you know, I say.

What words of wisdom will keep you at bay?

Seeking understanding, to feel okay,

I pray, don’t sway,

Keep walking, don’t look back that way.

To warmer surroundings, no longer cold and gray,

The harsh reality will only lead you astray,

Truth be told, in this day,

To comprehend it all, you’ll pay.

Navigate carefully, stay away from the fray,

I know my words may seem a little gray,

Not what you wanted to hear today,

But save yourself, okay?

Find healing away from the field of sorrow and pain, I say.

Thank you for reading.
