Few Hours of Youth

Many surrounding and watch

Humanity was once in my eyes

Faded in my clothes and shoes

I used to dance to beating drums and flying colors

Then I heard bodies fall in the distance

I ran inside, watching twitch and move

Their broken skin sinks into the ground

I held on to the walls, sneaking into windows but running from the lights

I wish they disappeared; they called themselves heroes

Facing the sun so well, making it feel what is right and wrong

Cheering from far away and bringing them presents

As I watch the darkness form into their hands and feet

Smiling more and more as each hour passed

Searching for more, I hid in walls and hoped

But as I cast my light each time

I hear footsteps and holes being made

And when they find me.

They held me, showing me around

How they got another trophy.
