A poem about a moment never to come

It’s so frustrating how feeling never are

how they’re supposed to be.

When a moment arises for a happy feeling

Like you know the warm bubbly is supposed to

Just burst out

But you find yourself longing

For the time that currently is

Until it really is only a memory

Or when a time is sad

And the tears are supposed to come

Streaming forth as does famous waterfalls

With snot bubbles assuredly in your future

But you find yourself laughing

About the time that will come

When all this will just be

A lesson learned from a memory

That is still yet to come

Or this moment now

When all the signs point to anger

And hatred with burning items

And disparaging a name that I can’t even say

Out loud

But all I feel is a melancholy contentment

In waiting for the moment the big joke

Will be revealed

And I’m standing here laughing along

Once again

But that time won’t come, will it?
