Feel the Need
I feel it in him, a shadow crawling,
hunger twisting beneath the ribs,
eyes glinting where the light fails,
a presence that presses against the air.
His hands tremble with secrets unspoken,
fingers brushing things they shouldn’t touch,
a pulse that drags through the quiet rooms,
pulling shadows with it wherever he goes.
Sometimes the need leaks in a smile,
cold and sharp, flickering like a knife,
sometimes it waits behind his silence,
thick and dark, watching, waiting for me.
I sense it in the spaces between words,
a weight I can’t shake, a pull I can’t name,
he carries it like a ghost, and I follow,
lost in the ache, and the darkness, and him.
