Is she me?

Is she a force to be reckoned with?

Is she the one that's always been there,

Waiting at the bottom?

Waiting to rise up out into the world

To become the woman, the girl

That did something great?

Something unforgettable;

Something to connect all humans

by the pure act of expression;

the expression of human emotion.

Emotions connect us; we all feel.

Even some of the most terrible,

They can feel. How do you

want to feel? For the rest of

your life? How would you

like to feel? I know I'd like to

feel like I mattered.

like my voice was important

Appreciated, words cherished

It's not because I'm a narcissist, it's

because I was raised by them.

I got very little praise and attention

or encouragement. That makes it

more difficult to have any kind of

self esteem. You see what I mean?

All my life has been about dreams

Never about taking action

Because the moment we began,

I started losing traction.

I started losing myself to this feeling

Truly, really believing

That I was nothing,

worth nothing, worthless

a waste of a life.

Having lived with all that strife,

I still say it's better to FEEL.

That's what makes us REAL.
