Fat Lines and Squiggles

Stepping out of the usual lane of traditional thought

By Rowan Finley Published 6 years ago 1 min read

I desired so greatly to just weep...to let it all go.

All the sadness...

All the frustration...

All the regrets...

All the failures...

But instead, the shower water stole my thunder,

and beat me to the punch in my gut.

My eyes longed for river ripples,

but found only dry, deserted desert-land.

It was as if my tear ducts were clogged forever,

until one blessed day someone dared to lament for me,

venturing to sort out the fat lines and squiggles of life at

hand.

This one hits deep. The idea of someone else lamenting for you, helping untangle life’s messiness, is both heartbreaking and comforting. It’s beautifully written!
