Fashion Accessory

Being a cougar

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 4 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

You wear him like a fashion accessory

Something to make you look good

Feeding his ego and yours, you never nurture his soul

Which is what true love is compelled to do

You love the idea of him

Reality is not important to you

It is how others perceive you for being with him

That matters to you.

How you are reflected in his glow

That’s not love and that’s not caring

You took so much from him

Your ego sucked the future out of both of you

You never should have let it happen

But your greed and need for attention

Attention gotten through having a beautiful talented man

Wanting to be with you.

You hurt him so bad and took so much away

Just because he was an accessory to you.

You had a husband, family and children

You should have honored those vows

You wore him on your arm like a fashion accessory
