Family Blood Turns to Venom

Love turns sour.

Family Blood Turns to Venom

Family blood,

Warm at first,

Soft at birth,

Safe in memory.

Then it shifts,

Turning sharp,

Turning cold,

Turning cruel.

Words once sweet,

Start to bite,

Start to sting,

Start to poison.

Smiles fade,

Hands withdraw,

Love grows thin,

Trust collapses.

You learn fast,

Who stands true,

Who hides knives,

Behind their name.

Venom flows,

Through quiet lies,

Through silent wars,

Through bitter hearts.

Yet you stand,

Still breathing clean,

Far from poison,

Far from harm.

Family broke,

But you survived,

Found your peace,

Somewhere else.
