FALLING TOGETHER

a poem...

By T. LichtPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

We fall together, like snowflakes from a broken sky.

The branches reach out to grab us, but the wind tears us apart

Why are we doing this? No snowflake is alike, why are we trying to stick?

The sun will always set, melting us into a history no one would ever learn.

Why give this black world another white sheet to scribble up?

Why clothe the world with beauty, when every part of me is falling apart?

When every crushing footstep, and snow angel chokes me to death?

Why fall together like snowflakes from a broken sky?

When I don't mind being rain and you snow...

This is awesome, and very well wrought. The story of the snowflake is one of a unique, beautiful, and fragile thing, that both weathers the storm and is the storm... an apt analogy for the human personality! Third line from the bottom, I think you wanted "to death". An easy fix in quick edit!
