Falling In Love

The Depths Of Longing

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Love has been referred to as some kind of summoning

A call for something reaching beyond.

A message that is well on its way of becoming

Flirting with the unknown, as it beckons the lost.

A full blown, bodied shell

Where longing goes on for miles

And I’ve been known to wear my longing like a god damed, fucking veil.

I need to shed this solitary for true love’s sacred cloak

Instead of living any longer occupied by these ghosts

Desperately in search of refuge and its promised respite

An anguished angst for scents of honeysuckle

under shades of moonlight

After all, graveyards still grow flowers

Feeding on the souls of the dead

No need for you to call out in despair

Love is just a notion that we fall into

And I’m the scariest thing living there
