Falling For My Fake Lover
Awakening from Deception

I thought I knew what love could mean,
A spark that set the dark agleam,
But your eyes held secrets buried deep,
Promises you could never keep.
You played the role with practiced ease,
Whispered words that made me freeze,
A smile so sweet, a touch so kind,
Yet shadows lingered in your mind.
I let my heart dive headfirst in,
Ignoring every whispered sin,
The lines we drew, a fragile veil,
A lover's kiss bound to derail.
Your laughter spun a golden thread,
Around my heart, around my head,
I danced in circles, blind and true,
Not knowing what I'd fall into.
But love’s a flame that soon reveals
The truths behind what lies conceal,
And though you wore a lover's face,
Your heart was in another place.
Now I unweave the threads you cast,
Release myself from shadows past,
For love that’s real will never fade,
While counterfeit lies drift to shade.
In parting ways, I’ve found my light,
Stronger now, free from the night,
A lesson learned, a heart grown wise,
Beyond the lure of whispered lies.
