Fallen Leaves

from the unloved being

By Cherry Published about a year ago 1 min read

Standing by the window, gazing at the leaves that fall,

Watching as it is the most mesmerizing sight in the world, lost in her thoughts.

Her eyes grow numb, staring at nothing at all.

Watching the leaves fall and sink, like they’ve done for so long.

As if the world itself plays a sorrowful song.

“Ah, it’s December again,” she softly sighed,

These cold nights never let her suppress those memories.

oh no, no they’re not memories—just shadows in the dept of her soul,

A haunting abyss where the darkness creeps.

This month, it reminds her how small she’s become,

In a world so vast, she belongs to none.

Not a soul to comfort, no words of warmth, no one by her side,

The emptiness grows in her heart, making the pain so intense.

Pushing her into bottomless darkness, where light can't reach.

She turns her gaze to the room inside,

Cold and dark, with no warmth to provide.

No one to call her, no cheer for the year,

Another year passed without joy to endear.

Perhaps she deserves this endless night,

A life void of warmth, without a light.

Not knowing what crime she has done to deserve all this, till when will it last.

In this dark, she silently stays still,

lost in the haze, looking outside with her gaze still.

Love the flow of this. It's so heart-wrenching. I can feel the sadness through your words. Great writing.
