Fall is Here

An Autumn Poem

Fall is in full swing,

Leaves of red, orange, brown, and yellow are falling,

Crunching and cracking underneath my feet,

Whispers of chilly wind sneak past my coat,

Making me shiver as I try to walk faster,

Gloves on my hands and a scarf around my neck,

I walk on the streets,

Thinking if I wanted hot chocolate at home,

And I do have some when I get there,

Made with milk and topped with marshmallows,

As I then wrap a blanket around me,

I look for recipes with pumpkin,

Because the season is here,

And while I will miss the heat of summer,

I appreciate the fall.
