Tales from a Crumpled Heart

Hey, remember those days in the park?

Jeans torn, shoes with a scuff mark.

We laughed, chased dreams, didn’t give a darn,

Now it's just me, with memories to yarn.

---

Used to be us, now it's just me and my tunes,

Missing our midnight talks under the moons.

Your jokes, that smirk, and that contagious laugh,

Now all I've got are memories in a photograph.

---

Coffee's cold, bed's empty, nights so long,

Every heartbeat echoes a forgotten song.

"Give it time," they say, "heartaches fade,"

But how do you forget the best memories made?

---

Flipping through our chats, our silly debates,

All the plans we made, all those dreamy dates.

But now my phone's silent, screen's so blank,

No "good morning" texts, just an empty bank.

---

I still wear that shirt, the one you said I looked best,

Close my eyes, remember your head on my chest.

But mornings come, and reality's a jolt,

It's like my heart's stuck in a perpetual bolt.

---

Man, I miss us, our crazy spree,

But life's changed lanes, set you free.

Maybe someday we'll cross paths, share a smile,

Till then, I'll walk alone, mile after mile.

---

Yet, hope's a funny thing, keeps you going,

Even when your heart's silently moaning.

So here's to us, to love, to all that's been,

And to new beginnings, sights yet unseen.
