Fade to Black..

A sensory acrostic experience.

By Kenneth cruzPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Bitter burning scorching my innards.

Light piercing my eyes, blurry vision, I’m falling, watching concrete rush at me.

Aching head as my surroundings turn into a red sea, my nostrils swim in the stench of rusty blood, urine, vomit and bile.

Clawing at concrete, scraping skin, my nails worn thin, wanting to bleed and fall off as I try to dig in.

Kidneys ache, in my binges wake, the sound of sirens overtake, as I lie awake. Echos of cars rushing by, still I lie, as I close my eyes, hoping my broken body they will find.

Explicitly gory details of awakened senses in such a horrific moment. Well done indeed and quite creative in the response to the given prompt.
