I see you from afar
as your star
fades away
are you still there?
unaware
of me
sitting here
always alone
dreaming that someone
will pick up those deplorable debris off me
and finally let me live;
you have matured like the finest wine
and for that I have to thank fate
when I can’t even touch you and the temperature of your breath
it is as low as the toughest winter;
I want to be close
to warm my hands from yours
where you see nothing, nothing at all
I want to be there for you
to always brighten your day;
we coexist –
best matching colours and patterns
on new, fashionable garments
everyone’s jealous and greedy to grab
even the smallest fragment
of our harmonious trap
so, what keeps you away
from everything I want, from everything you need?
just the softest kiss
can break this constant
pulling the rope
in the wrong direction
without leaving loose threads
*
and suddenly the rain came and washed away the sins
of our unfulfilled dreams
