Every day we see their faces
In our travels to many places
We pay no attention, assume all is well
So many of those faces have a story to tell
Some are happy and some are mad
Others are lonely and incredibly sad
We don’t bother to ask if someone is alright
It is not our problem, it’s not our fight
So many faces lost in the crowd
Displaying their emotions without a shroud
If one person would stop and ask are you okay
Would that save the child, who was going to run away
We see such pain on the faces of our friends
But a face in the crowd, a helping hand we don’t lend
So many of those faces are longing to talk
Ignoring their cries, right on by we walk
They show their pain and don’t get a second look
People just don’t care to read their book
Faces in the crowd with a story to share
Don’t get told because nobody cares
How many from the crowd no longer live
Because a compassionate voice we could not give
We are left wondering, how could this happen
It’s because we ignored their cries in usual fashion
Their faces cried for help, and cried real loud
They ended up being faces, lost in the crowd
