FACELESS II

I can have a smile that lies, but... -my eyes are still without color.

Without saying anything‐

What's worse?

A smile, that spouts lies?

OR...

A pair of truly, colorless eyes?

What shall I say?...

"I'm fine?"

OR...

That I am only a single step away from standing on the same side of reality as Mr. Grim‐

Whether my lies are accepted

or...

my honesty forgiven‐

I ask for the difference, but...

*sigh*

of course, I do actually care...

at least enough to be upset,

but not so sure that I'd place a bet‐

I stand here faceless...

Without making a sound‐

An expressionless face still speaks,

a stream of damaged consciousness...

Does it tell of a want for what comes after numbness?...

Does the sound of nothingness speak louder than any possible action?...

Shall I ask again?...

Without a word‐

What's worse?

A smile, that shouts lies?

OR...

A pair of truly, colorless eyes?

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
