My love, it runs deeper than the sea
Yet your heart wanders, refusing to see
The echoes of our hearts could be entwined
But you remain distant, a bid to leave me confined.
With heavy heart, I must now depart
Knowing that to love myself is the start
For in this bittersweet farewell
This emptiness I must quell.
Through tears I leave this path we tread
I leave with you the love, I once cherished and fed
For I deserve a love that's pure and true
A love that entwines my heart, my desire to soar.
In letting go, I set you free
To find the love that's meant to be
My love for you is rooted true
But I know I must love myself too
I'll hold our memories in tender care
An example for the future - fair
For in the depths of our goodbyes, I see
The love I've always longed for resides within me.
