When I look into your blue eyes
Losing myself in them
Your eyes sparkling and reflecting light
The light of both happiness and pain.
I think I know how you feel
Although I pretend sometimes
Yet you remain to me a mystery
A girl with a history different from mine.
What pain have you been through?
What pleasure makes you smile?
What you think and believe, love and hate
Your enigmatic eyes sometimes lie.
And forever I can lose myself in your smile
In your eyes, like a word in a thick file
Yet, I will always be yours, always there,
Only if you give me a sign.
But something holds you back
Prevents you from speaking out your heart
Like Mona Lisa's smile, and other enigmas
You remain to me sublime.
And then when you say you love me
Your golden hair tangled in the wind
I know you are true
But yet in your eyes mischief's glint.
Like you are mine but yet free and wild
Like you are full of zest for life
And cannot accept ties that bind
And what we are you can't define.
I'm ready to leave her for you
It'll be my sacrifice
Lost I am in your stares
The mystery turns me blind.
And I think of you always
See you in my mind
You're my inamorata, my soul,
The breath that keeps me alive.
I'll leave everything for you
My honour, my commitments, and my wife
For love her I don't
I'm selfish, unkind.
But that mystery in your eyes
Those enigmatic words I can't define
Those strange smiles when you kiss my lips
Makes me feel alive.
Is it not enigma we seek?
Stories that keep us thrilled
There is no joy in the mundane
And alas none in my wife.
So divorce it will be
I leave her for your arms
Maybe someday the mystery will stop thrilling me
But maybe never till I die.
I can't be happy but with you
Can't breathe as I lie to my wife
I'll leave her for you, I swear
Only if I understand the glint in your eyes.
Do you love me?
Tell me you do.
A mystery to be unravelled you are
Am I the only one or are there a few?
